Since speaking about the bizarre incident, the lads received a huge amount of emails and calls from well-known Irish men who have also fallen victim to the exact same catfish.

The scammer made up a number of different accounts and names, who she pretended to be friends with to fool the men.

Johnny Smacks said: “It’s mind boggling, you do not expect this to happen in Ireland, it’s other level s ***.”

The RTE stars revealed some of the crazy stories that men have come forward with about the catfish on their podcast today.

One very famous footballer, who remained anonymous, contacted The 2 Johnnies and claimed the scammer had even followed him somewhere in England and taken photos of him without him knowing.

Johnny B explained: “I have spoken on the phone to 12 men from the world of sport and entertainment who all allege they have been catfished by fake accounts ran by her.

“One of these men is also a member of An Gardai Siochana.”

He added: “Nobody has been asked for money.”

Some of the scammer’s victims even went to the Garda to report her but nothing was done to help.

Johnny B said: “To varying degrees these men have been emotionally exploited by these fake accounts.

“Three of these men confirmed that they went to the Gardai and the PSNI about her, the Gardai and the PSNI told them there was probably nothing that could be done about this.

“We have numerous third party sources of well over 30 men, well-known men from the world of GAA and entertainment, who have been catfished by these same fake Instagram accounts.”

The Tipperary native revealed that some of the men even sent this fake account “intimate photos” of themselves.

He said: “We have heard that most of these men received intimate photos from these fake accounts and when asked to send them back some men told me that they obliged.

“If you asked 30 to 50 guys, someone’s going to give you one back.”

Johnny Smacks added: “There are people who have been affected by this, their lives have been affected and it just needs to stop.”

The podcaster claimed the fake account had posted snaps from his hometown and of his dog even after he blocked her.

He explained: “Also, on her Instagram account in the weeks after I confronted and blocked her – were several stories of Cahir.

“Photos from around our home in Cahir and the location tag. Also, there were Instagram stories of my dog Goujon.

“Another terrible thing I’ve been sent is me and herself out walking on Valentine’s Day. The photoshopping job she has done is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

A professional sportsman from Northern Ireland claimed he was also scammed by the same catfish eight years ago.

He alleges the scammer turned into a stalker and followed him everywhere including his brother’s funeral.

Johnny B explained: “When they went to meet for a date, she cancelled last minute as she got sick. The next time, a relative died.

“One time she cancelled a date because she fell into a coma.

“Via Facebook, she introduced him to her best-friend [who was actually herself].

“He confronted the best-friend about being a catfish and she denied it.
