Cheshire celebrities Harry Styles and Daniel Craig named among ‘most stylish in the UK’

Harry Styles and Daniel Craig have been named two of the most stylish men in the UK in a recent survey. The study was carried out by clothing e-commerce site Thread, which surveyed 2,000 Brits on who the best-dressed public figures in the country were.

Holmes Chapel’s Harry came out on top for celebs aged in their 20s with 12 per cent of the vote. Meanwhile Chester’s former James Bond star was named the most stylish of those aged between 50 and 59, with 26 per cent of respondents voting for him.

James Bond was a strong feature throughout the list with rumored future 007s Idris Elba and Richard Madden also named for the 40s and 30s categories respectively, while Pierce Brosnan came out on top in the 60s range. Star Wars and Pulp Fiction actor Samuel L Jackson won the 70s category.

Toby Standing, stylist at Thread, said: “We see experts deem celebrities’ outfits’ hot or not ‘constantly – so it’s interesting to get the public’s verdict, particularly generationally. Personal style evolves so much through our lifetimes, and looking at the difference in the ‘best dressed’ men, that’s made clear. Each celebrity plays with style in an individual and personal way – particularly the 007s, past and present.

Daniel Craig’s time as Bond has given him a masterclass in how to wear good tailoring, so he’s not afraid to push the boat out and go for something daring. Brosnan, however, is experiencing a ‘Brosenaissance’. He’s cut from the same cloth as Craig, but his style has more of an elegant, refined slant – softer tailoring, classic styles of knitwear and a real eye for good eyewear.

“Elba often crops up on best-dressed lists as his style feels genuinely accessible. Like Craig, he does not shy away from color, which is probably his strongest asset. Madden is at the other end of the spectrum. He instead opts for a monochromatic, rugged style that harkens back to James Dean – timeless and simple.

“As for men in their 40’s being deemed the most stylish, this is an intriguing statistic. We often view the youngest generation as fashionable, but perhaps as we get older we prioritize timeless style over trending clothing.”
